Stick of truth does not require Uplay like most Ubisoft games on Steam.
Its not a question of being on steam, its if it will require Uplay which means a 2nd DRM (requiring 2nd account login) and no achievements.

My Uplay games have achievements on Steam though. If you can ignore the whole Uplay DRM, it'd be just like any other Steam game

Name one game that you can buy on Steam, have it start Uplay, play through Uplay, and still get steam achievements.

Rocksmith 2014, Shoot Many Robots(?), Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Phantoms (requires Uplay account though, not the actual client so this doesn't really count)

Might & Magic Heroes VII, Tetris Ultimate, R.U.S.E, Toy Soldiers War Chest.
Oops, guess we extended your request a bit. Sorry.
Huh... I guess Ubisoft figured out how to work with Steam on the newer games (first guy is still wrong though), guess that means sequel will require Uplay.

What do you mean by first guy? If you meant me, the ones I listed did require Uplay except for the last one

No they don't.
Besides, a few doesn't make up for most Ubisoft games...

Yeah, they kinda do. Also, I'm just proving that you can have a Uplay game with Steam achievements so there is a chance that Fractured but Whole could have achievements on Steam
Actually Rocksmith 2014 has Uplay only as in-game feature. Does not require to install the client.
Being Ubisoft as scummy as they are. They don't have any PC requirements listed on their website. They know if they show if it requires uplay it is going to hurt their sales.
I guess FbW isn't even ready yet. Even though it looks like it's going to be another copy-paste sequel from Ubisoft [EDIT: I don't particularly think it's a bad thing though].

Wasn't there something about Matt and Trey only allowing Ubisoft to hold onto the license for the South Park IP needed to publish the first game under the condition that it would continue to be published as planned on Steam as a Steamworks title without UPlay?
If that's the case, and Matt and Trey hate to see UPlay associated with the brand as much as we all do, then why would the second game be any different?
